Bio

AvapXia is an electronic music project created by Joshua Ellis, covering genres from lo-fi hip-hop to chiptune jazz, to electronic ambient, and many more. They graduated in 2024 from University of Idaho with a degree in Music Composition, and are now looking to write music for video games, independent films, and solo projects.

Growing up in Meridian, Idaho, Josh always had a fascination with music. They took any chance they could to play the home piano, bang hands on tables and tambourines, or create music on flash game websites and noteblocks in Minecraft. After discovering FL Studio on Youtube one day, and begging for it for several months, they finally got it for Christmas in 2014, and the rest is history.

AvapXia has released 9 full albums and 3 EPs since then, improving with each one, and pulling from an ever-growing list of musical and artistic influences. They wrote music for the 2018 game "CONCLUSE" and its sequel made by Jon Martin, and for the game-jam project "LOCOSIZIC" in 2024.
